Spending the evening tweaking an agreement to make it specific to commencing services with a new client isn't the most sexy part of deal packaging but it is certainly necessary.
It is important that clear, transparent boundaries are established from the outset. Having clear and robust terms and conditions for your deal packaging business means that:
– You are more likely to avoid ambiguity and misunderstanding about your and their role and what you are actually packaging. – You can identify the client’s obligations to you so they don't 'gazump' you or waste your time; moreover they can outline what you require from your client in terms of commitment before you commence business. – You can clearly set out when and how you require payment. – You can clarify what happens if their payment is late or (hopefully not!) if you need to terminate the agreement and; – YoU can comply important legal obligations so you don't end up being unnecessarily referred to the Property Ombudsman or Property Redress Scheme.
Happy Monday (there's a band name in there somewhere!) and Happy Packaging!
